How do you digitalize security in an environment as sensitive and regulated as air cargo?
For more than fifteen years, Air France Cargo and Ozion have been co-developing digital solutions to strengthen operational traceability, regulatory compliance and the performance of security teams at the Roissy cargo site.
With the Vigigo solution, Air France Cargo chose to abandon paper processes in favor of complete digital traceability, while recognizing the work of its agents and ensuring operational continuity, even when security providers change.
In this testimonial, Xavier Bryche, Head of Security at Air France Cargo, looks back on this collaboration and the concrete benefits it has delivered.
Daniel Moreno:
Can you remind us how this collaboration began?
Xavier Bryche:
The partnership began before I arrived, through a security services contract that put us in touch with Ozion.
The goal was to digitalize the traceability of security measures and set up an electronic logbook to track events at the Air France Cargo site.
From 2010, we developed these tools together.
In such a regulated environment, digitalization replaced paper processes, made the agents' work smoother and guaranteed operational continuity, even when providers changed.
Today, the systems remain in place and are operational within a few hours.
Daniel Moreno:
Regulation makes your job particularly demanding. How do you deal with it?
Xavier Bryche:
We apply seven of the twelve areas of the European regulation, supplemented by national and local texts.
It is dense and demanding. Without suitable tools, maintaining this level of rigor would be impossible.
The solutions we developed bring stability, complete traceability and peace of mind during inspections.
Some of the features put in place here exist nowhere else.
Daniel Moreno:
How was this relationship of trust and co-development built?
Xavier Bryche:
Trust is essential. I favor the stability of a partnership over multiplying providers.
With Ozion, there has always been attentiveness, proximity and continuity, including during quieter periods.
This consistency allows us to move forward and to strengthen both the rigor and the working comfort of the teams.
Daniel Moreno:
Which developments have stood out to you the most?
Xavier Bryche:
We started with the logbook and event traceability.
Then we added patrol management (security, fire safety, integrity of the premises).
More recently, we developed the management of escorted access passes, in response to changes in the regulation.
These features can be configured according to the regulatory orders in force.
It is a real source of collective pride.
Daniel Moreno:
How does Vigigo improve the performance and operational peace of mind of the teams?
Xavier Bryche:
The modules we developed allow us to master the regulatory fundamentals and to focus on people.
Inspections and audits go more smoothly, teams are better prepared, and their work is recognized.
This helps stabilize and retain frontline teams.
Daniel Moreno:
How do you see the future of digitalization in security?
Xavier Bryche:
Information systems have their limits, but with the arrival of artificial intelligence, new possibilities are opening up.
In industrial freight, there will always be a significant share of human intervention.
Tools like Vigigo will continue to play an essential role: modeling, tracing, supporting, while security equipment focuses on screening.
Regulation sets the objective, but never the method. It is up to us to innovate.
Daniel Moreno:
What message would you like to share with your fellow security managers?
Xavier Bryche:
We need to stay one step ahead and share our experiences.
The tools we developed make us more responsive and competitive, while showcasing our partners.
I consider Ozion a partner, not a supplier.
Daniel Moreno:
After more than fifteen years of collaboration, what do you take away from this adventure?
Xavier Bryche:
The human solidity and the consistency. Your attentiveness, your patience and your ability to adapt have been essential.
Security is involved in all long-term projects.
It is a human and technological adventure that I hope will continue.
This testimonial shows that digitalizing security can become a real performance lever:
Air France Cargo did it, with Ozion.
